    The course is designed for:

    Students with a university degree and individuals with a general education, as well as professionals in related fields who wish to increase their competencies in food safety and food safety management. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

     

    The purpose of the certification course: To train food safety specialists, who will be able to assess food safety requirements, potential threats affecting food safety (physical, chemical, biological); to introduce the system of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) at various food facilities and to carry out control and internal audit in order to determine whether the established system operates effectively.   

     

    The goals of the course are to enable participants to:

    • Understand and recognize potential threats posed to food safety (physical, chemical, biological); legislative requirements concerning food safety management system in Georgia and other countries; issues of international certification (ISO 22000; FSSC 22000); forms and methods of state control over food business operators.
    • Apply their knowledge to practical situations; participate in the introduction of food safety management systems (HACCP) within different food facilities; carry out an internal audit of established food safety management systems; promote permanent system improvement; prepare food facilities for international standard certification.
    • Assess the efficiency of control measures defined by food business operators regarding the emergence, identification and prevention of potential threats to food safety at various food facilities; identify discrepancies and their causes; provide business operators with relevant recommendations.    
    • Establish communications with business operators and other persons operating and interested in this sphere; acquire listening skills; engage in discussions that clearly transmit information and use communication technologies in their activities.

     

    Duration: 36 hours

    A TSU Certificate will be awarded upon completion of the course.
