Jean Monnet Center of Excellence:
Democracy Resilience in Georgia
the first time in its history, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) has been awarded the prestigious status of the EU leading center, Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, within the framework For of the ERASMUS + program, which represents the highest level of Jean Monnet activities.
The Center serves as a significant interdisciplinary hub, both within and beyond the University.
The main objective of the Center of Excellence, 'Democracy Resilience in Georgia' (CoE DRG), is to facilitate the development of sustainable democracy within Georgia. In pursuit of this objective, the Center is oriented to enabling EU AA correspondent environment across four blocks of concentration: 1) equality and human rights, 2) information resilience, 3) societal security and 4) environmental security.
Project employ academic excellence to work through teaching and lifelong learning (T&LLL), research and development (R&D) and policy change and implementation (PC&I) thereby creating ‘insulation pillow’ against vulnerability to misinformation at all levels
The Center is focused on raising awareness among target groups (youth, academia, civil society), especially in areas where the risk of disinformation is most pervasive (e.g. equality, European integration) or there is a gap in primary information concerning pivotal project issues (e.g. migration policy, environment and climate change). The activities will address the specific needs of vulnerable groups (ethnic/religious minorities residing in Georgia, people with disabilities, young people living in mountainous regions).
