    Public discussion on the “Key Principles, Institutions and Legal Instruments of the European Union”

    On July 19, 2024, the TSU Faculty of Law with USAID Rule of Law Program support organized a public discussion on the “Key Principles, Institutions and Legal Instruments of the European Union”, attended by students and academic staff of the TSU Faculty of Law. 

     

    Within the framework of the meeting, the TSU Faculty of Law Professor Irine Kurdadze discussed fundamental rights protected under the law of the European Union; Invited Lecturer Tamta Zaalishvili spoke about foundational principles and key institutions of the European Union; Assistant Nana Mchedlidze outlined different roles of the the European Union and the Council of Europe, shared values and member states' obligations to respect human rights; Invited Lecturer Paramjeet Berwal explained differences and implications of EU legislative instruments.

     

    Georgia's integration into the EU and promotion of a deep understanding of EU legislation in society is the theme of a series of panel discussions the TSU Faculty of Law plans to continue in the future in partnership with the USAID Rule of Law Program.
