On November 25–27, 2026, the Raphael Agladze Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Electrochemistry of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University will host the international scientific conference "Modern Trends in Chemistry, Chemical Technologies, and Related Fields: Green Energy Prospects, Environmental Sustainability, and Food Safety – 2026." The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Institute's founding and is supported by the Shota Rustaveli Georgian National Science Foundation [Grant No. ISE-26-286]. The event is co-organized by Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.

The event aims to facilitate the dissemination and critical exchange of recent findings and achievements in fundamental and applied research conducted by representatives of leading scientific schools in chemistry and related disciplines; to identify and formulate prospective areas for collaborative research based on established methodologies, complementary expertise, and accumulated scientific experience; to strengthen academic–industrial partnerships and promote the development and implementation of innovative technologies aligned with the objectives of the regional socio-economic development strategy; and to identify potential industrial partners and stakeholders and foster their engagement in the support and financing of promising scientific and technological projects.

The main themes of the international scientific conference are: I. Nanoprocesses and Nanotechnologies; II. Fundamental and Technological Aspects of Processing Mineral Resources and Secondary Raw Materials; III. Green Chemistry; IV. Popularization and Commercialization of Scientific Innovations; V. Food Chemistry and Quality; VI. STEM+P: Science, Innovation, and Policy; Public Management of Science and Innovation.

The participating scientists represent a wide geographical range, including Italy, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, France, the USA, Canada, Azerbaijan, and others; local students will also be actively involved in the event. The conference follows a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and online participation.

The involvement of foreign researchers in the interdisciplinary conference is important for increasing the visibility of Georgian scientists' research within the international scientific community; this, in turn, will serve as a prerequisite for future collaborative research.

The electronic materials comprising the scientific outputs of the conference (proceedings/abstracts) will be indexed in Google Scholar. With the support of our Azerbaijani colleagues, a selection of publications will be published in the SCOPUS-indexed journal *Chemical Problems* (ISSN: 2221-8688).

In 2016, at the initiative of the leadership of TSU and the Institute, it became possible to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the R. Agladze Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Electrochemistry with a conference titled "Modern Research and Prospects for Application in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, and Related Fields." The relevance of the topics addressed at the anniversary event generated significant interest among colleagues—both international and local—and this year's conference responds to the strong desire of the scientific community to hold such scientific gatherings again.
