The TSU Museum of History was established on December 4, 1986.

    

Its collections arecomprised of unique photo materials related to the foundation and development of Tbilisi State
University, as well as manuscripts, publications, memorabilia and personal items of the university’s founders. These include Ivane Javakhishvili, Petre Melikishvili, Ekvtime Takaishvili, Shalva Nutsubidze, Iustine Abuladze, Akaki Shanidze, Giorgi Akhvlediani, Andrea Razmadze, Korneli Kekelidze, Dimitri Uznadze, Nikoloz Muskhelishvili, Niko Ketskhoveli, Ilia Vekua, Shalva Tsintsadze, Giorgi Nioradze, Varlam Topuria, Giorgi Gozalishvili, Akaki
Gatserelia, Sergi Jikia and others.
Anniversary gifts contributed by foreign donors are also kept in the Museum. There are more than 15,000 objects in the History Museum, which are regularly recorded, sorted and digitalized. These materials are often used at commemorative events at TSU, and are regularly consulted both by academics and students.
