4th International Conference Dedicated to Academician Levan Aleksidze’s 100th Anniversary

 

 

At an international conference held at Tbilisi State University (TSU), Georgian and foreign professors and researchers discussed a range of topics, including modern challenges in human rights protection, international mechanisms for safeguarding universal rights, the rights of vulnerable groups and minorities, issues surrounding migration and the right to education, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence, personal data protection, and digital transformation on human rights.

Erekle Astakhishvili, TSU Deputy Rector; Khatuna Totladze, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia; Moris Shalikashvili, Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law, and Irine Kurdadze, Director of the International Law Institute, made welcoming speeches to participants of the 4th Annual International Conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Academician Levan Aleksidze, founder of the Georgian school of international law.

The event emphasized the importance of protecting human rights in the maritime sector, addressing the health and psychological well-being of seafarers, and overcoming contemporary challenges to realizing the right to health.

The International Law Institute at TSU’s Faculty of Law organized the conference in collaboration with COST Action BLUE-RIGHTS and the Batumi State Maritime Academy. The event once again highlighted the significance of Levan Aleksidze’s legacy in the modern development of international law.
