TSU Scientists Lead in Fundamental Research

 

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is the leader in the competition for fundamental research state grants announced by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.

Out of the 111 winning projects in the 2024 competition, 31 projects (about 28% of the winning projects) belong to TSU scientists.

 

Projects can be submitted to the State Grant Competition for Fundamental Research in all fields of science: exact and natural sciences, engineering and technology, medical and health sciences, agrarian sciences, humanities, social sciences, Georgian studies.

 

The Call for Fundamental Research State Grants aims at gaining new knowledge in various scientific fields and focuses on theoretical and experimental analysis of the theories, models, new ideas and concepts that should facilitate socio-political, economic, public, cultural and technological progress of the country in a long-term perspective. The call supports the creation of a competitive research environment and promotes the development of excellent research in compliance with international standards and internationalization. The call aims at attracting young researchers and developing their scientific potential.
