TSU Launches New Textbook Creation Project

At the initiative of Tbilisi State University Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, and upon the selection of the university’s Publishing Council, new textbooks will be created this year, including foreign translations. GEL 350 thousand has been allocated from the TSU budget for the creation of new textbooks.

 

Textbooks will be selected through competitions at relevant faculties, with GEL 50 thousand allocated to each faculty for publication.

Six textbooks will be published at the Faculty of Law this year. Among them are Introduction to Constitutional Law; Georgian Customary Law; Introduction to Civil Law; Introduction to Jurisprudence; and Georgian Criminal Procedure Law: Private Part.

 

The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences will publish four textbooks, including two translations: Educational Psychology; Behavioral and Emotional Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence; Labor and Organizational Psychology; and Nonverbal Communication.

 

The Faculty of Economics and Business will publish six textbooks, including translated and updated editions: Internal Audit; Statistics for Economics and Business: Part I; a textbook for the course Economic Policy I and Economic Policy II (for master’s degree); Economics of Ecological and Natural Resources; and Microeconomics.

 

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences will publish four textbooks, including Political Ideologies in Georgia; Introduction to Sociology (Part One); Introduction to Social Work; Social Geography of Regions and Countries of the World (Part One); NATO - From the Cold War to Ukraine, the History of the World’s Most Powerful Alliance.

The Faculty of Humanities will publish seven textbooks. This year, the faculty has selected the following for publication: Introduction to Linguistics; Rustaveli and Rustvelian Studies; New History of Georgia (1801-1917); Textbook of New and Modern Turkish Literature; Introduction to Ethnology and Anthropology; Practical Teaching of Fine Arts - Drawing, Painting, and Composition; and Kantharos - Ancient Greek Language for Schools and Universities.

 

By the decision of the Council of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, a new textbook titled Introduction to Biology will be created.

A corresponding competition will be announced every year within the framework of this project. All textbooks will be published by the TSU Publishing House and printed at the TSU Printing House for the new academic year.
