The first international scientific symposium “Multidisciplinary Aspects of Human Rights Protection in Light of Global Challenges” was convened at the Faculty of Law of Tbilisi State University.
The symposium was attended by Tamar Zarandia, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Tornike Cheishvili, Deputy Minister of Justice; Giorgi Dgebuadze, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and project manager, as well as representatives of the academic community and PhD students.
The international symposium, which will be held on an annual basis at the Faculty of Law, was established within a grant program initiated by the Ministry of Justice. The objective of the symposium is to facilitate collaboration between universities at the national and international levels; to showcase the contributions of doctoral students and young scientists to the advancement of the field; to examine persistent challenges in the domain of human rights and the contemporary approaches to their resolution.
The event, which was opened by the Deputy Minister of Justice, was conducted in the format of panel discussions. The discussions centered on current issues pertaining to administrative law, history of law, private law, constitutional law, international law and criminal law, particularly in the context of human rights protection.
The international symposium provides a forum for fostering intensive international university collaboration.
The project was financed through a grant competition held annually by the Ministry of Justice. The purpose of this competition is to promote the participation of civil society in the activities of the system and to support civic initiatives.
