Post-School Education Preparation Program at TSU

 

The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia met with young people residing in the occupied territories, who will study in the Post-School Education Preparation Program at TSU.

The program is designed to improve the level of the Georgian language and increase the competence in the field (elective) subjects in accordance with the National Curriculum.

“This project will receive considerable support from the university. Your generation has the potential to unite our country. You have a significant role to play in this matter, you are the ambassadors of our country, and you will have the opportunity to study at one of the leading European universities for one semester as part of the Erasmus + project,” said Jaba Samushia.

The Post-School Education Preparation Program was approved at TSU at the beginning of the current academic year as a result of an initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia. 14 individuals are currently enrolled in the program.

The program is designed for individuals residing in the occupied territories who have received a complete general education in the Russian language within those territories.

The program offers a robust foundation in learning and teaching that prepares beneficiaries for higher education.

The program will be led by Inga Sanikidze, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor at TSU, and coordinated by Shota Kezherashvili, head of the Entrant Preparation Department of the TSU Center for Lifelong Learning.

The program is part of the Georgian government’s peace initiative. It aims to provide the population in occupied territories with access to quality higher education that matches their interests and abilities.
