Jaba Samushia Meets with Rector of Transilvania University of Brașov

The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia met with the Rector of Transilvania University of Brașov, Prof. Dr. Ioan Vasile Abrudan.

The two rectors discussed the jointly implemented project and future collaboration.

Jaba Samushia provided Prof. Dr. Ioan Vasile Abrudan with a comprehensive overview of the university’s structure, scientific activities, and student life. Additionally, he emphasized the significance and benefits of collaborative partnerships with other universities.

“The university maintains collaborative relationships with higher education institutions across the globe. Our ongoing efforts in this regard have yielded fruitful results, with the number of universities engaged in new projects with us increasing annually. It is of great importance to our university to provide students with as many opportunities as possible. It is equally important to facilitate the advancement of young scientists and encourage the participation of professors and instructors in diverse research and instructional endeavors. Consequently, a number of projects and programs have been implemented in this regard. It would be beneficial for us to further intensify our collaboration with your institution,” stated Jaba Samushia.

The visit of the Rector of the Transilvania University of Brașov, Prof. Dr. Ioan Vasile Abrudan, is intended to reinforce the collaboration between the two universities. To this end, Professor Abrudan met with the Deputy Rector of TSU, Erekle Astakhishvili, and the deans of TSU faculties, as well as representatives of the administration, to delineate the areas in which collaboration and joint projects are envisioned.  

The collaboration between TSU and the Transilvania University of Brașov commenced with the CISI project, which was financed by the Erasmus+ programme. The project, coordinated by the Center for Research on Issues of Persons with Disabilities at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of TSU, combined the efforts of the staff of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of both universities. This collaboration enabled the transfer of knowledge and expertise between the two institutions.
