A section of table tennis was opened in the 1990s. The TSU team of table tennis participates in the Georgian Universiade, where in 2005 and 2006 it took the 1st place. TSU team also took the 1st place at the Universiade of Kars University in Turkey.

On June 3, 2013, the Universiade was held in table tennis, where TSU took the 2nd place.

During the Universiade held in 2014, the women’s team took the 1st place in team competition and 3rd place in individual competition.

At the first stage, any student can undergo registration at the section; then students with the best physical skills will be selected and trained.
