American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia announces the call for the 2nd Cohort of the Internship Program supported by the USAID Economic Security Program, implemented by the partner hotels represented by the Marriott, Radisson and Sheraton Hotels who offer Internationally certified five (5) months paid on job training at the world`s leading hospitality companies. This is a unique opportunity for participants to grow and succeed by gaining fundamental knowledge of hotel operations, completing training and gaining a full-time employment opportunity in Tbilisi and regions.

Participants will receive on-the-job instruction from internationally certified trainers from the partner hotel groups, utilizing curriculum that heretofore was only available for the training of their personnel.

The training will include the following topics:
** Opera Program
** Hospitality Basics
** Front Office
** Housekeeping
** Food and Beverage
** Banqueting & Events
** Kitchen
** HACCP
** Human Resources
** Health & Safety
** Hospitality Sales
** PR
** English Language

The first month out of the five (5) the participants will study at the Icarus VET College on a specialized Opera program learning course relevant to all operational departments of the hotel. The (4) months on job learning /internship will be paid (Net salary 700 Lari), the participants will be assigned to work in various departments in one specific hotel and/or will gain experience at different locations within a group of hotels. The training curriculum, utilized under this partnership, represents the gold standard for the sector and is typically reserved for the staff of international brand hotels.

Upon successful completion of training courses and internship, the program participants will be granted certificates, jointly issued by the partnership participant hotels (GMT Group, Silk Road Group, and the Sheraton Metechi Palace) and acknowledged by AmCham Tourism Committee.

Project Background:

The USAID Economic Security Program has been on the "front lines" of assisting the Georgian National Tourism Administration and the private sector in recalibrating Georgia`s tourism model, including by supporting to increase standards and introduce certifications to enhance economic growth. To this end, the Program entered into a partnership with AmCham and the international brand hotel partners, GMT Group (Marriott Hotels), Silk Road Hospitality (Radisson Hotels), and the Sheraton Grand Metechi Palace, to support the introduction of best practices and international standards into the hospitality industry.

As part of the Partnership, the GMT Group (Marriott Hotels), Silk Road Hospitality (Radisson Hotels), and the Sheraton Grand Metechi Palace, will design and conduct internationally-certified training courses for talents, willing to build careers in hospitality industry, as well as offer paid internships to ensure upgrade of skills and knowledge of the program participants to the highest global standards.

The program has already accomplished the first cohort of the 5 months` internship program. More than 40 participants have successfully graduated from three different hotels. This is the call for the 2nd and the last cohort of the current program. Part of the participants already got jobs at the participant hotels. AmCham Georgia is continuing to support employment process for the rest of participants.
