Academician Jaba Samushia, the Rector of Tbilisi State University, held a public lecture for students and pupils at Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University. The lecture was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili.
During the lecture, Rector Samushia spoke about Ivane Javakhishvili’s role in developing Georgian science, the importance of his historical legacy, and the values, which remain relevant to the new generation.
At the end of the event, there was a screening of Marika Bakuradze’s documentary Ivane Javakhishvili. The film depicts the life and work of the Georgian scientist and public figure.
The public lecture series is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia in various regions of Georgia and it aims to popularize Ivane Javakhishvili’s legacy among young people.
This event officially concluded the week dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili.
