Dacia Maraini, the famous Italian prose writer, poet, playwright, director, screenwriter, publicist, documentary filmmaker and journalist, met with students, professors and public representatives at Tbilisi State University.
During the meeting, Maraini presented her book The Pleasure of Writing, the copyright of which she donated to the TSU Publishing House. The book was printed at the TSU Printing House and is now available to readers.
Maraini was awarded the TSU Gold Medal in recognition of her successful cooperation with the university. TSU Deputy Rector, Professor Erekle Astakhishvili presented the award to the writer.
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Georgia, Massimiliano D'Antuono, embassy representatives, and the book's translator, Nunu Geladze.
“We are the masters of our own fate,” Maraini told the TSU students as she openly answered their questions.
