Abbot of the Vatopedi Monastery Finances Annual Tuition Fees for Five Students TSU

Annual tuition fees were financed for five students of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU). The studies were financed on behalf of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi.

“Archimandrite Ephraim, Abbot of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi, has financed annual tuition fees of five students based on various criteria. At the first stage, tuition fees were financed for 11 students. It is an important support for the students that will encourage them to achieve more success,” Acting Rector Jaba Samushia said at a meeting with students.

Gela Geladze, a representative of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi on the issues related to scholarships, noted that Archimandrite Ephraim is expected to visit Georgia and TSU next year too. “I hope that all funded students will use the knowledge received at TSU for the welfare of their homeland,” he said.

Archimandrite Ephraim, Abbot of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi, visited TSU on September 20 as part of his visit to Georgia. He met with students, donated books to TSU and pledged that the Holy Monastery would finance the studies of successful Georgian students. The studies of a total of 16 students have been financed by the Vatopedi Monastery this year.
