Jaba Samushia, Acting Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), met with Mark Speiser, a famous judge from the State of Florida, and Robert Trachman, a criminal defense attorney from the same U.S. state, to discuss the issues of holding a series of lectures and seminars for TSU students, as well as sharing their own experience with them. The meeting was attended by the Head of the TSU Foreign Relations Department, Tea Gergedava, and former MP Paata Davitaia.
Acting Rector Jaba Samushia offered the American guests to hold seminars for TSU students in a form of a series of public lectures in the future and share their experience with them. Mark Speiser has 38 years of experience as a judge. Along with many important and high-profile cases, his name is associated with four death penalty cases.
The participants focused on the importance for TSU students to share legal practice as well as the need to strengthen the practical component in the educational process.
