Israeli Ambassador Meets with Academic Staff of TSU’s Hebrew Studies Program

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Georgia, Hadas Ester Meitzad visited Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and met with the Head of the BA Program in Hebrew Studies, as well as with the academic and visiting staff who implement the program. The representative of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty of Humanities of TSU also took part in the event. The head of the program - Associate Professor Mamuka Butskhrikidze informed the guest about the history and tradition of the teaching of Hebrew language and culture at Tbilisi State University, as well as about the important novelties that the BA Program in Hebrew Studies offers to the students.

 

At the meeting, the Israeli Ambassador expressed her desire for close cooperation and support, which will be expressed in public lectures to students of the Hebrew Studies Program on a number of current issues related to modern Israel, as well as other interesting cultural activities, constant familiarization with the novelties of Israeli cultural life, and assistance in establishing academic contacts necessary for the TSU program.

 

The representatives of the program implementation team noted that the active support of the Embassy of Israel and the Ambassador personally is welcome and important for the academic and visiting staff involved in the program, as well as for the students.
