New Courses at the Faculty of Economics and Business

The Faculty of Economics and Business at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University has introduced two new courses: the Amadeus Global Distribution System and the Opera Cloud Property Management System. These are two of the leading digital platforms in the global tourism industry.

The courses are particularly important as they have virtually no analogues in the programs of other higher education institutions in the region. The programs are distinguished by their strong practical focus and are designed to develop students’ modern digital skills in line with market demand.

Introducing these courses will significantly boost the competitiveness of Bachelor of Tourism students in both the local and international labor markets. In addition, this initiative will popularize the program itself and increase its attractiveness to applicants.

The courses were developed by Merab Khokhobaia, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business. The courses have already aroused great interest and encouraged active student involvement in the learning process.

To effectively implement the objectives of the courses, a modern computer laboratory will be set up at the School of Tourism within the Faculty of Economics and Business. The laboratory will be fully equipped, providing students with access to official, licensed software packages. This will enable them to master the Amadeus and Opera Cloud systems in conditions that closely resemble a real working environment.
