Joint Meeting at TSU

The governing bodies of Tbilisi State University (TSU), including the Academic Council and Senate, as well as the faculty deans and professors, held a joint meeting to discuss the potential merger between TSU and the Georgian Technical University (GTU).

Given the importance of the issue, the participants agreed that it is appropriate to meet with representatives of the Ministry of Education. They also suggested that the faculties’ governing bodies discuss the issue and present their agreed-upon position to the TSU Academic Council and Senate.

According to TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, recent developments have shown that continued dialogue within the academic community is necessary. It is important to reconcile the positions of the university community on this issue.

After the joint meeting of the Academic Council and Senate, Rector Samushia met with students to discuss the matter.
