TSU Hosts Presentation of Monograph about David Gareji

A presentation of the monograph titled “David Gareji Monastery Complex and the Georgian-Azerbaijani Border Area, Historical and Geographical Realities” was held at Tbilisi State University (TSU).

TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of the monograph and the process of its creation. “This is the result of collaborative efforts involving scientists from various fields. It is an invaluable resource on issues related to the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. It should definitely be in the world’s leading libraries.”

The interdisciplinary monograph includes geography, history, architecture, epigraphy, geodesy, and legal documents. During the presentation, the authors discussed the challenges and successes they faced in creating the work.

Funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, the monograph covers geographical, historical, cartographic, and legal issues related to the Davit Gareji monastery complex and its surrounding border area.
