TSU Students to Conduct Training Sessions for Schoolchildren

A new project has been launched at Tbilisi State University (TSU) to popularize legal education among the younger generation.

The project, entitled “Promoting Legal Education in the Future Generation for the Security of the Rule of Law and Its Institutional Development,” is being implemented as part of a grant obtained by the Tinatin Tsereteli Science Society at the TSU Faculty of Law. The primary objective of the project is to strengthen legal security.

The project promotes respect for the law and raises awareness of human rights and state institutions among schoolchildren.

As part of the project, first- and second-year law students will lead training sessions on current legal issues in Tbilisi, Gori, Batumi, and Lagodekhi schools. They will also provide students with information on legal topics that interest them.

In January, the first stage of the project began with an announcement of a competition for undergraduate students from higher education institutions across the country. About 100 students participated in the competition. Following interviews, 30 students from various universities were selected as winners, and received training from TSU professors, judges, Ministry of Justice employees, and psychologists.

The three-month project will conclude with a closing event at the end of March 2023.
