TSU – 14th International Symposium on Physical and Analytical Chemistry

The 14th International Symposium on Physical and Analytical Chemistry (ASPAC 2025) has opened at Tbilisi State University. About 60 foreign scientists from Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Israel and other countries are participating in the event. Held since 2009, the symposium brings together leading researchers, practitioners and young scientists from various universities and research centers around the world.

“Progress in science is unthinkable without cooperation and knowledge exchange. This symposium is an important platform for sharing ideas, establishing scientific collaborations, and exploring new perspectives. This is essential for supporting the progress of science,” said Professor Petre Babilua, Dean of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at TSU.

“Over the years, the symposium has provided an opportunity for experienced and renowned scientists, as well as young researchers, to receive the latest information on current research, innovations, technologies, and the best ways to use them. This proves once again that this event is useful and constructive for specialists in this field,” said Dr. Mario Thevis of the University of Cologne (Germany).

Prof. Bezhan Chankvetadze, Head of the Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry at TSU, stated: “The goal of the event is to share the latest achievements in physical and analytical chemistry, discuss existing challenges from a multidisciplinary perspective, and promote innovative scientific collaboration.”

Many of the scientists participating in the symposium have collaborated closely with the TSU Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry for years. The conference also hosts young Georgian researchers who continue their scientific activities abroad, as well as foreign scientists participating in various exchange programs who have conducted part of their research at the TSU Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry.

The international event once again emphasizes the global nature of science and the crucial role of international collaboration in establishing TSU as a prominent educational and research institution on the global academic stage.

The symposium will last three days. TSU is co-organizing and co-sponsoring the event with the American Chemical Society’s Georgia Internatio
