In an effort to internationalize teaching and learning and to expand international ties in scientific research, a delegation from Tbilisi State University met with representatives of several universities in the United States.
Tea Gergedava, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations at TSU, and Lisa Kraft, Director of International Special Programs at Pace University New York, discussed the signing of an agreement on bilateral cooperation between Tbilisi State University and Pace University New York. A particular emphasis was placed on the opportunities available to TSU students to engage in Pace University’s seasonal programs.
The parties involved also discussed the proposal of financial incentives, academic assistance and administrative services for TSU students, which has the potential to serve as a substantial motivation for enhancing student mobility and deepening international experience. The establishment of the terms of the partnership is predicated on the simplification of academic mobility for students, accessibility of English-language courses and the admission process.
As part of their visit to the U.S., Tea Gergedava and TSU Associate Professor Ekaterine Pirtskhalava held a meeting at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The meeting was attended by the University’s Vice President for Global Affairs, Dr. Eric Garfunkel, and Associate Director of Partnership, Kim Pernice.
The participants discussed the prospects for the development of joint educational and research programs between TSU and Rutgers. Special attention was paid to the involvement of students in seasonal and short-term programs, with the objective of providing TSU students with high-quality, practice-oriented international experience.
