TSU Representatives at National University of Distance Education

Erekle Astakhishvili, the Deputy Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, visited Madrid, where he attended a working meeting as part of the “Promoting High-Quality Digital Education in Georgia” (PRODIGE) project at the National University of Distance Education (UNED).

 

The meeting aimed to share European experience in digital higher education and to hold consultations on further developing this field in Georgia. Representatives from various Georgian higher education institutions, including Tbilisi State University, which are actively involved in implementing the project as partners, participated in the working visit.

 

TSU Deputy Rector Erekle Astakhishvili participated in discussions about mechanisms to ensure the quality of digital education, strengthen the capacity of higher education institutions, and support digital education policy reforms. This visit is an important step toward developing a strategic vision and sharing practical knowledge in line with European standards. Supported by various European and Georgian partner organizations, the PRODIGE project aims to improve the quality of digital higher education in Georgia, enhance the national legislative framework, and assist higher education institutions in digitalizing education.
