A presentation about Tbilisi State University (TSU) was held at the annual European Association for International Education (EAIE) exhibition in Gothenburg, Sweden. During the presentation, Tea Gergedava, head of the TSU Department of Foreign Relations, informed representatives from European, American and Asian universities about TSU and the opportunities the university offers to international students, as well as academic and administrative staff, through mobility programs.
The European Association for International Education holds an annual exhibition in various European cities. This year, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia presented a stand at the exhibition, with about 20 state and private universities accredited in Georgia participating. During the exhibition, the Ministry held a session discussing the internationalization and popularization of Georgian higher education.
During the international exhibition, the TSU Department of Foreign Relations employees held over 50 meetings with university representatives from the world. The meetings aimed to strengthen ongoing partnerships, find new partners, and establish new connections. During these meetings, they agreed upon student and staff mobility, as well as participation in staff weeks.
Tea Gergedava, head of the TSU Department of Foreign Relations, said the meeting with Harvard University representatives was particularly noteworthy. It was decided that the university will reserve a spot for TSU at the Harvard Summer School, and the number of TSU students attending will increase to seven. Representatives of Ghent University (Belgium) also announced that TSU will receive funding through the Erasmus + program. As a result of the agreement with the University of Frankfurt (Germany), TSU students and staff will benefit from the university’s mobility program.
