Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology at TSU Turns 100

An international scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology was held at TSU.

TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia opened the event. He emphasized the centuries-old history of the Institute of Geology and its significant contributions to scientific development: “The Institute of Geology is one of the oldest scientific centers in our country. Thanks to your efforts, the Georgian geological school is now recognized in the Caucasus and around the world. Your institute’s practical importance is enormous - it creates the basis for the country's natural resources, ecological sustainability and economic development. Each of you plays an invaluable role in this matter. Progress in our country is unthinkable without such strong, practical scientific institutions,” said TSU Rector Jaba Samushia.

The scientific conference “Achievements and Challenges in Geology” was held with the support of TSU. It aimed to showcase the achievements of Georgian scientists and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience between Georgian and foreign scientists.

A ceremony was held at the end of the event to award honorary medals from the Alexandre Janelidze Institute of Geology in seven nominations:
