International Conference “COVID-19 Pandemic and Economy”

An international conference “COVID-19 Pandemic and Economy” dedicated to the 104th anniversary of foundation of TSU and the 100th anniversary of foundation of the Faculty of Economics and Business was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) on February 8, 2022. 

Both Georgian and foreign scientists, as well as academics and PhD students took part in the conference. 90 speakers presented 67 academic papers. The conference mainly focused on evaluation of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as future forecasts. 

A plenary session was chaired by Dean of the TSU Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Giorgi Gaganidze. Vice Rector of TSU, Nino Okribelashvili, Head of Higher Education and Science Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Nino Tsereteli and Academician Avtandil Silagadze made welcome speeches. 

Academician Vladimer Papava presented a report “On the Supply –Chainflation. Furthermore, a group of Slovenian independent scientists presented a report “Challenges of Modern Organization in the Post-Covid-19 World.” 

Following the plenary session, the work continued in 10 sections set up to discuss various scientific topics.
