The futsal team of Tbilisi State University became the winner of the Futsal League Two of the 2022-2023 season. In the decisive, fifth match of the final series, “Students” defeated “Kutaisi 2” 4-0 and won the League Two Cup for the second time. The champions of the debut season regained the title after a three-year hiatus.
The final match was played at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace. The goals were scored by Saba Egriselashvili, Aleksi Tkachov, Grigol Bokhashvili and Gega Koshadze. “We are the first champions of League Two. We have created a new team and were getting closer to this success step by step. The third year has already passed, and I would like to appreciate this hard work of the boys and thank them. We had a rough start to the season, but we picked up in the middle. We became more mobilized. Of course, our goal was to win the championship, and thanks to our fans, leaders, staff and players, we achieved this great success. Once again, I congratulate “TSU” and all those who celebrated this championship with us,” said TSU 2 head coach Davit Bobokhidze.
It should be noted that the year 2023 proved to be particularly successful for university sports. In the current season, TSU basketball players have won the Georgian Cup and the Super League, the two highest titles in the country.
