The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia, paid an official visit to the Etxepare Basque Institute, a long-standing partner organization of TSU that is subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of the Basque Autonomous Community.
He met with Irene Larraza Aizpurua, the Institute’s Director General, and Monika Madinabeitia Medrano, the Director for the Promotion and Dissemination of the Basque Language. The parties summarized the results of their collaboration and discussed prospects for developing the partnership further.
They paid special attention to continuing and strengthening the teaching of the Basque language at TSU, expanding educational and cultural activities, and promoting joint scientific and research projects, as well as international academic initiatives.
Both parties expressed their commitment to further developing their partnership, which will contribute to TSU’s internationalization, closer integration with the European academic community, and the mutual promotion of Georgian and Basque cultures.
