FORGE-AI is funded by the European Union HORIZON-WIDERA-2024-TALENTS-03 programme and focused on developing Georgia’s capacity in artificial intelligence research. The project supports young researchers through advanced training and international secondments, encourages collaboration between universities, startups, and industry, and helps improve national innovation policies. By working with local and European partners, FORGE-AI aims to make Georgia a more active and capable contributor to the global AI research community.
Bringing Global AI Expertise to Georgia: FORGE-AI provides Georgian AI researchers unique opportunities to enhance their expertise by engaging with leading European AI institutions. Through extensive international secondments, 25 talented Georgian researchers will complete cross-sector and cross-border placements, gaining practical experience and building career-enhancing international networks.
Community Engagement: The project actively supports the growth and sustainability of Georgia’s AI research ecosystem. By facilitating regular community events, workshops, and collaborative projects, FORGE-AI aims to unite AI researchers, startups and institutions.
Open Knowledge and Resources: FORGE-AI is committed to making high-quality AI research accessible. A dedicated open-access knowledge portal will provide Georgian researchers, students, and professionals with comprehensive resources.
Policy and Stakeholder Engagement: FORGE-AI facilitates ongoing dialogue between researchers, policymakers, businesses, and academia to align Georgia’s national AI strategies with best practices from Europe.
