Internal Quality Assurance

TSU’s internal quality assurance is a continuous assessment process of current teaching, learning, research, and university third mission (contribution to the development of society), as well as of institutional effectiveness of the university, carried out by the relevant structural units of the university. The goals of internal quality assurance are to continuously improve educational activities and strengthen the culture of quality. This means taking responsibility for the quality of activities performed by each person involved in the university.

Additionally, internal quality assurance includes the accountability of the university to internal and external stakeholders. Internal accountability includes quality and timely reporting. Accountability to external stakeholders includes meeting the requirements of educational program preparation, university self-assessment reports and fulfilling other external assurance procedures.

While providing internal quality assurance, the University takes into account Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015), which is a common framework for quality assurance in higher education at the European level. Adhering to these guidelines is essential for meeting external quality assurance mechanism requirements needed to guarantee the recognition of students’ university education and ensure their mobility both within and outside the country. This increases both local and international public confidence in the university. The quality of delivering education and connected activities are primarily the responsibility of the university. Internal quality assurance is coordinated by the University Central Quality and Faculty Quality Assurance Services in close collaboration with local and foreign universities. In addition to universities, QAS cooperates with the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education  (EURASHE), the European Student Association (ESU), the European University Association (EUA), the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and other organizations.
