TSU Basketball Team Defeats Keravnos of Cyprus in FIBA ​​Europe Cup

 

After a five-year break, the Georgian basketball team is competing in the European tournament. The team of Tbilisi State University, which became the champion of Georgia last season, is participating in the FIBA ​​Europe Cup. The match of the 2nd round of the tournament was held at Tbilisi Arena and “TSU” defeated “Keravnos” of Cyprus in a thrilling battle 63-60.

Kakha Jincharadze brought 22 points to the team. Aleksandre Fevadze had 7 points and 14 rebounds. Giorgi Turdziladze finished the game with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Another member of the Georgian national team, Rati Andronikashvili, who played his debut game for TSU, collected 9 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 interceptions.

It was the 2nd game for the TSU team in the FIBA ​​Europe Cup. In the first round held in Göttingen, Germany, TSU lost 81:86 against the team of the same name. In yesterday’s round, “Göttingen” defeated the 4th member of the group, the Italian team “Varese”, 91-79 and moved up to 1st place. “Varese” and “TSU” share the second and third places, while “Keravnos” is in the last place with 2 defeats.

It is noteworthy that in August-September 2023, the basketball team of Tbilisi State University was completely refreshed and the team participated in European tournaments with a new composition.

In the next round, “TSU” will meet “Varese” in Italy. The match will be held on November 2, in the city of Varese, at 22:30 Tbilisi time.
