TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia met with the Education Attaché of the Turkish Embassy in Tbilisi. During the meeting, they discussed ways to deepen their scientific and educational cooperation.
Rector Samushia thanked the Turkish Embassy and the Education Attaché for their support, which resulted in the successful implementation of Turkish language courses at TSU. Special attention was paid to strengthening Turkish language teaching, including adding practical components and involving Turkish teachers in the educational process.
Samushia emphasized the importance of Turkology in Georgia, noting that it must continue and further develop at TSU. Currently, over 300 students are studying Turkish at the university.
Participants also discussed implementing joint scientific projects on a variety of topics under the cooperation agreement with TÜBİTAK, including expanding student and academic exchange programs.
The Rector expressed his condolences for the deaths of 20 Turkish military personnel in a Turkish Air Force plane crash.
