Jaba Samushia Holds Working Meeting with Representatives of Bordeaux Montaigne University

 

The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia who is on a working visit to Bordeaux, France, met with the Acting President of Bordeaux Montaigne University, Apostolos Lampropoulos, the Executive Vice President for International Relations, Antoine Ertlé, the management team of the Doctoral School, professors of the Department of Slavic Studies, and representatives of the Administration.

The participants of the meetings discussed the possibilities of deepening the scientific and research cooperation between the two universities and developing new directions.

The sides agreed to implement joint student exchange programs, which will give Georgian students the opportunity to spend the fall semester of the academic year 2024-25 at Bordeaux Montaigne University. In addition, students of the French university interested in Caucasian studies and history will study at Tbilisi State University for one semester.  

During the meeting with Vice President Antoine Ertlé, the sides discussed the issue of organizing “Georgia Days” at Bordeaux Montaigne University, which will further promote Franco-Georgian cultural and educational cooperation.

As part of the visit, Rector Samushia is expected to hold working meetings with representatives of other higher educational institutions in Bordeaux.
