Jaba Samushia has awarded the successful teams of Tbilisi State University and their fans.
TSU Rector Jaba Samushia presented certificates of appreciation to the student choir, futsal and volleyball teams and their fans, while Lasha Mirotadze, the choir’s director, received a university medal.
The current year has been particularly successful for TSU in terms of culture and sports. “We summarized the important achievements of sports teams in 2023, and awarded the university’s student choir for its successful performance in Poland. I would like to congratulate Tbilisi State University and each of its students on this victory,” TSU Rector Jaba Samushia said.
The TSU Student Choir became the winner of the Grand Prix of the 19th International Choir Festival Mundus Cantat Sopot, while the TSU Futsal Team became the winner of the Futsal League Two of the 2022-2023 season. In addition, the TSU women’s team won the volleyball championship of the 2023 Student Festival and was awarded gold medals. The men’s team of the university became the winner of silver medals.
At the end of the event, the TSU Student Choir performed the closing song of the 19th International Choir Festival Mundus Cantat. The award ceremony was attended by students, professors and administrative staff of TSU.
