The Rector of Tbilisi State University (TSU), Academician Jaba Samushia, accompanied by a delegation from the University, paid a working visit to the University of Texas at Dallas. The purpose of the visit is to deepen the existing cooperation with the University of Texas at Dallas and to discuss the possibilities of continuing the joint project.
Jaba Samushia held meetings with Dr. Inga Musselman, the Provost of the University of Texas at Dallas; Professor Juan Gonzalez, the Vice-Provost and Dean of Graduate Education; Jennifer Hilton Montero, Director for International Initiatives; Hasan Pirkul, Dean of the School of Management; Professor Poras Balsara, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering and Computer Science; as well as representatives of Dallas College and the academic staff of various fields who serve as mentors to Georgian doctoral students and postdoctoral-level researchers within the framework of the joint project.
The discussions centered on the topics of teaching, research, and the advancement of scientific activities among Georgian doctoral students, as well as the significance of mobility programs and avenues for professional knowledge enhancement. The parties involved concurred to pursue and further extend the collaborative endeavor, and deliberated on prospective avenues that could facilitate the advancement of the field in Georgia and at TSU.
